MyEconLab Provides the Power of Practice for Today's Student Studying Today's Economics!
- Experiments: In collaboration with Charlie Holt (University of Virginia), Pearson has developed these new economics Experiments, the first of which–The Market Experiment–is currently available in MyEconLab. Additional Experiments will be available for fall courses:
- The Market Experiment (synchronous and asynchronous)
- The Market Experiment with Price Floors and Ceilings
- The Market Experiment with Taxes
- Public Goods
- Unlimited Practice: Many study plan and instructor-assigned exercises contain algorithmically generated values to ensure that students get as much practice as they need. Every problem links students to learning resources that further reinforce concepts they need to master.
- Learning Resources: Each practice problem contains a link to the e-text page that discusses the concept being applied. Students also have access to guided solutions, animated graphs as well as a suite of graphing tools, audio narratives, and flashcards!
- Auto-Graded Tests and Assignments: MyEconLab comes with two Preloaded Sample Tests for each chapter so students can self-assess their understanding of the material. You can assign these Sample Tests or create assignments using a mix of publisher-supplied content and your own custom exercises!
- Economics in the News and 35 News Videos: Students can apply the concepts they learn in class and in their textbook to current news articles that are posted weekly to www.myeconlab.com. News Videos cover a variety of real-world topics.
- Study Plan: A Study Plan is generated from each student's results on Sample Tests and instructor assignments. Students can clearly see which topics they have mastered - and, more importantly, which they need to work on. The Study Plan links to additional practice problems and tutorial help on those topics.
- Department-wide Solutions: Get help managing multiple sections and working with TAs with MyEconLab's Coordinator Courses. After the Coordinator Course is set up, it can be copied to create sections or 'member' courses. Changes to the Coordinator Course ripple down to all member courses, so changes only need to be made once.
- Additional Communication and Customization: Tools that are particularly useful for large lecture and distance-learning courses are available when MyEconLab is delivered in Course Compass. You can upload course documents and assignments, and use advanced course management features such as Digital Dropbox and Discussion Board.
- Advanced Gradebook Features: Powerful new gradebook options include exporting student data and scores, and dropping lowest scores. You can also modify student scores based on assignment due dates and see at a glance how a student performed on an individual assignment.
- Custom Question Manager: Custom questions and problems created by one instructor can easily be copied and edited by other instructors.
- Add Comments During Review: When reviewing a student's test or homework assignment, instructors can add comments to individual questions. These comments are automatically displayed the first time a student reviews the assignment and are accessible through the "View Comment" button.
- Enhanced MyEconLab Email Functionality: Instructors now have three new email options:
- Send a Course Announcement to all students in the roster.
- Contact an individual student using the easy-to-find link at the top of all Student Results pages.
- Email multiple students based on specific search filters, such as a certain score for an assignment, incomplete attempt of an assignment, las login date, category average, or overall score.
