Description
This series of a dozen experiments and 30 activities was developed to offer students an interactive way to master major concepts in introductory psychology and to reinforce the scientific nature of the discipline. The experiments, new to this edition, are signaled in the text by marginal icons. They illustrate hemisphere specialization, serial position effects, Webster’s Law, memory span, depth of processing, the mere exposure effect, selective attention, perceptual set, transfer of emotions (mood cognition), classical conditioning, latent learning, and mental rotation. Before students begin each experiment, they are given an introduction to the topic, background information, instructions on how to complete the experiment, and several test trials.
Live!Psych activities include interactive simulations and animations, also signaled by icons in the text. They are designed to teach some of the key concepts that students find most difficult and to get them actively involved with the material. The activities were created in consultation with psychology instructors and carefully reviewed by experts to ensure accuracy and pedagogical effectiveness. Live!Psych Experiments and Activities are available in OneKey or on a CDROM that can be packaged with a new book for college adoptions.
