Description
Offering current examples and modern science within a one-of-a-kind Earth systems organization, Geosystems, 7e combines student-friendly writing, outstanding art, and a multimedia program for a truly unique physical geography experience.
Features
| An organization that works -- Providing a consistent framework for learning and teaching, Geosystems is organized with a logical progression around the flow of energy, materials, and information to present topics in the same sequence in which they occur in nature. Student centered -- Students are engaged by examples and applications of current events as the author tells the story of modern Earth systems science. The most current physical geography book available -- Providing students and professors the most significant information, the author updated all sections of the text with the most current data and information available. A leader in climate change science -- Students learn the science of climate change in the most up-to-date treatment available in any text. Climate change science appears throughout Geosystems where relevant impacts are important. Multimedia experience -- Active learners benefit from narrated animations, tutorials, video, and photography on the accompanying Student CD-ROM and Companion Website. |
New To This Edition
New examples -- Current examples like the near extinction of the Harlequin frog and changes in USDA hardiness zones give students a clear picture of the effects of climate change and the story being told.
Updated throughout -- New data, reports, examples, and applications throughout the text support modern science and the modern classroom.
Lab manual now features Google Earth exercises -- The updated Applied Physical Geography: Geosystems in the Laboratory, 7e, is the first in this field to employ Google Earth™ mapping service to allow students to manipulate maps and views in conjunction with their lab exercises.
