The Companion Website provides students with resources and immediate feedback on exercises and other activities linked to the text. These activities, projects, and resources enhance and extend chapter content to real-world issues and concepts. Each chapter on the CW contains the following modules or sections:

  • Technology Integration Workshop. This workshop provides a variety of hands-on activities including:

o       Clips from the Classroom: Shaping Learning with Technology — Activities and questions give students the ability to analyze the video to gain an understanding of how to integrate technology into the classroom.

o       The TIP Model in Action — Questions align with the scenarios at the end of each chapter

o       TIE into Practice: Technology Integration Example — Practical tutorial and skill building activities as well as hands-on experiences that build students’ skills using popular software and hardware applications.

o       For Your Teaching Portfolio — Allowsstudents to save their work in a personal portfolio.

  • Chapter Overview — Outlines key concepts and issues in the chapter.
  • Interactive Summary — Summarizes chapter content and allows students to click on links to view examples.
  • Self-Assessment — Includes multiple choice, true/false, and short answer questions with automatic grading to provide immediate feedback to students.
  • Web-Enrichment Activities — Includes meaningful activities that connect to chapter content and provide web-based resources for students to use when completing the activities.
  • Key Terms — Provides students with chapter key terms and allows them to visit web sites for additional information.
  • Web Resources — Links to World Wide Web sites that relate to and enhance chapter content.
  • Chapter Downloads — Provides downloadable chapter rubrics, checklists, and evaluation forms for students to help them with lesson planning, software and technology evaluation, and other chapter activities.
  • Making the Case for Technology Integration — Includes this chapter feature’s discussion questions from each chapter that encourage exploration of issues and ideas.

·        Additional Software Skill Builder Tutorials — Provides practical tutorial and skill building activities give students hands-on experiences that build their skills using popular software and hardware.

·        Message Board — Serves as a virtual bulletin board to post or respond to questions or comments to/from a national audience.

·        Other Resources — Gives student’s access to PowerPoint slides, the ISTE Standards for students and teachers, the user manual for the Technology Integration Workshop DVD.
