CAPA

Developed at Michigan State University, CAPA is a Web-based homework delivery system that enables instructors to create personalized homework assignments with a wide variety of conceptual questions and quantitative problems.  The CAPA system:

  • Allows you to create custom homework assignments from end-of-chapter problems 
  • Randomizes and modifies variables in problems 
  • Keeps records of results which are made available to you and individual students. 
  • Uses operating systems: UNIX, Solaris, HP-UX, or Linux.

LON-CAPA

An integrated system for online learning and assessment.  It consists of a course management system, an individualized homework and automatic grading system, data collection and data mining system, and a content delivery system that will provide gateways to and from the NSF’s National STEM Digital Library. The LON-CAPA software:

  • Provides instructors with a platform to assist in all aspects of teaching a course, from lecture preparation to administration of homework assignments and exams. 
  • Provides an assignment engine that can create unique homework & exams for each student.
  • Formative & summative assessment tools grade a variety of objective problems & assist in evaluation of essays.
